Such marketing tactics only reinforce negative misconceptions regarding fat people, their health and mental well being. Distorted views of an entire segment of our population lead to discrimination as sited in a recent Yale study.

Everyday tolerance to obesity descreasing in the USA

A recent report reveals that in the US, the tolerance to the heavier members of society is decreasing. Not exactly news to the size acceptance organisations who have campaigned for many years for equality. The study from Yale University suggests a downward trend, the obese feel much more discriminated now than 10 years ago.

ISAA seeks help with funding

The International Size Acceptance Association has announced that it is looking for funding . Donations will be used to pay for hosting fees to keep their website online and providing essential information to the size and self acceptance community.

In a recent email to members the ISAA said,

“We are accepting online donations only at this time through Paypal because of the limited time involved.

Kids website causes outrage with diet pills and breast englargment

While the world panics about obesity and eating disorders and the effect on children, it seems one website has ignored all warnings and is causing a controversy that will take time to fade away. It is an online game that gives young girls the chance to 'role' play an online female character that can have 'boob jobs' and take diet pills.

Miss Bimbo is the evolution of the online pet's that young girls and boys spend time looking after in a virtual world.

Fat rights group launches new video project

The Coalition of Fat Rights Activists are looking for people to take part in a new project. Their Goal is to show the world that fat people have faces, that they are people and have their own stories. If you have watched a news report or read an article, it is often accompanied by a picture or video of a large person with out a head, focusing on the stomach area and lower regions.

Mississippi fat bill to be killed off

The proposed bill to restrict over weight people from entering resteraunts in Mississippi has been killed off. The ISAA has emailed members stating that the legislation has been stopped as per a report in the Clairion Ledger.

House Public Health and Human Services Committee Chairman Steve Holland announced his intention to kill House Bill 282.

New Mississippi law to ban fat people from restaraunts

If the Mississippi legislature have their way, 'fat' people will be barred from restaurants and other food establishments. A bill has been proposed which would stop restaurants from allowing overweight persons to dine, those who are allowed will have to accept the recording of their BMI.
